Topic: Summary & reflection of 10th Grade and illustration of the ups, downs, and improvements to make for 11th Grade
Summary/Reflection: 10th Grade has been a completely different experience compared to 9th grade. I started to think more carefully about my future and university as well as future careers. I also started taking AP classes in school and started taking more advanced classes in mathematics, and language. I was also able to compete in numerous competitions both in and outside of school such as NHD (National History Day), DSO (Dalton Science Olympiad), DBC (Dalton Business Competition), and WLSC (World Language Speech Contest). I gained a considerable amount of new information as well as new knowledge as I prepared and endured the different competitons. For example, while preparing for the WLSC, I studied and memorized the different words and grammatic concepts of the Spanish language and learned how to be less nervous when speaking in front of a large group of people and presenting my topic and idea. For this contest, I received the second place award for the Spanish III division and subsequently received an A for the overall grade of Spanish III.
In terms of GPA, there were setbacks in the second semester as my AP Human Geography grade fell from A to A- after a miserable result from my Unit 4 exam. After this test, my grade fell to C- so there was a lot of work to do to recover my GPA and my grade for AP HG. On the other hand, for other subjects, my grades remaind the same and finished the school year with an overall grade of A.

(The 2 Lit & Comp II classes shown is due to our original teacher (Ms. Dewitte leaving the school during the school year and we had a substitute for the rest of the school year)
The notable ups of this school year was that I learned a lot in the different classes that I took and was able to obtain decent results in the respective classes. Apart from this, I was able to make even more friends and got closer with a lot of people from both 11th and 12th graders which allowed me to ask questions and learn about what it’s like to be in the respective grades and about college as well.
The downs were also present in this school year as I desired a grade of All-As but received an A- in AP HG which was very disappointing. For next year, an improvement I could make is to stay in an alert and focused manner even in the second semester and not being complacent wiht the position I am in and striving to better mysle fand to retain my grades/status.
Hopes for 11th Grade:
GET GOOD GRADES!!!!!!!!!!
