Topic: Research Paper Publication in JSR

On June 13th, I embarked on a research paper project through Polygence, working closely with my mentor, Ehab. After carefully selecting a topic, we immediately began drafting the research paper with the goal of not only producing high-quality work but also completing a mini-project related to computer vision. Over the course of three months, my mentor and I engaged in continuous collaboration, refining our ideas and strengthening our research. As a result, I successfully authored a research paper that was first registered in the Research Archive of Rising Scholars (RARS) and later submitted for peer review to the Journal of Student Research (JSR).
Titled “Advanced Computer Vision and AI Techniques for Nano-Scale Quality Control in Manufacturing in the Space Industry,” my paper explores the role of nanotechnology in ensuring precision manufacturing at an incredibly small scale. I have always believed that nanotechnology represents the future of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is technologically possible. To address the challenges of maintaining quality control at the nano level, my research introduces SEFMS (Scanning Electron and Fluorescent Microscopy System), a technique that integrates SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and fluorescent microscopy to provide a dual-scale imaging approach. This system enhances the accuracy and reliability of nanotechnology-based manufacturing, particularly in the space industry, where even the smallest defect can have significant consequences.
After undergoing the peer-review process, my paper was officially published in Volume 13, Issue 1 (2024) of the Journal of Student Research – High School Edition. This publication not only validates the significance of my research but also marks a major milestone in my academic journey. Additionally, my paper was evaluated under the UCIXGATI curriculum, a program by the University of California Irvine that allows students to submit their research for review by university faculty, where I was honored to receive an A-. This entire experience has deepened my passion for scientific inquiry and given me firsthand experience with the rigorous yet rewarding process of academic research and publication.
